BODY RAFTING™ & CAVING MUTIADVENTURE An exclusive, off the beaten path, eco-experience through an untouched private forest with access to an amazing cave, canyons and rivers fed by underground springs.
The passionate interpreters will guide you while keeping a safe physical distance, as you hike off-the-beaten path Indian trails in the jungle. Then you will traverse a huge open water cave, and enjoy body rafting™, a unique sport created by Explora to float downstream while viewing the striking, towering canyons.

What to bring
You must fill a medical form and a waiver at the meeting place. To safeguard the health of everyone, if you are experiencing symptoms possibly related to COVID-19, you will not be allowed to participate, per CDC guidelines. You will get a full refund.

Age limit: Minimum standard age is 10 years old; agile younger children (8 or 9) are welcome.
Bottom: Ladies may wear bathing suit as a first layer, then 'leggings' or light sports pants on top. Gentlemen may wear swim trunks, also bike pants or light sports pant.

A Real Adventure!

Our family of four signed up for this excursion after it was highly recommended by a family member and we had a great day. Mimi and the guides were all friendly, welcoming, and informative. The hike in and out was beautiful. The water level was a bit low and so the float portion of the trip also involved some walking in the water but the guides were always looking out for the best way to navigate. We would highly recommend this for someone looking for a fun and active day.

This was SO MUCH FUN!!!! Mimi coordinated our entire experience perfectly, with ongoing communication and so much helpful guidance. Juan was our tour guide and he was kind, patient, knowledgeable, and fun!!

My guidance to future participants:
This is a REAL outdoor adventure, with a real hike through the rainforest and swim down the river.

Do not wear fashion sneakers or sandals, and then wonder why the hike is so hard. Do not get into a real rainforest river, and then complain about rocks hitting your butt.

Nature is gorgeous and this is not a Disney ride - do yourself and your group a favor, come genuinely prepared to do a real outdoor activity.

IGreat Arecibo hiking and water floating /caving experience Mimi was great she really took the time to make sure we were prepared and Kelli gave us great info recommended just be aware that it’s steep and moderate hike

Fun activity, but best when the water is warm and running high

The forest that we hiked through and the Tanama River that we rafted on were beautiful. The guides were great, but needed to do a better job of wiping water off their camera lens before taking photos and setting the date and time on their cameras before the trip (one was a day off and one was 356 days off, and the times were several hours off). Body rafting was fun, but the water was COLD! Personally, I think they shouldn't offer this activity when the water is under 75 degrees F. Also, be forewarned that there are many low spots where one can easily get stuck or hit your bottom on the rocks. It's been 4 days and I still have a sore bottom. To include "caving" in the title is misleading. This was strictly a body rafting trip that happened to go through a cool river cave. The lunch at the end was delicious, but they messed up and didn't provide a veggie sandwich for my vegetarian daughter. We had to stop and get a lunch for her in Arecibo. I think they should have refunded a portion of our activity fee for that missing lunch. I would recommend this activity in warmer weather and when the river is running high.

We ended up not taking this trip, partially due to pandemic times and most importantly being told last minute that our grand kids were too young. However, Mimi the tour coordinator was very on top of our questions and concerns. It certainly looked like from all the information the send out that they are extremely conscious about their customers. It may be Viator’s fault for not passing on our first questions. But have no fear this operator will let you know - right down to asking if you want mayonnaise on your sandwiches!
