Overview

The Bioluminescent Bay at Laguna Grande is a must do on your visit to Puerto Rico. With limited availability and access to protect this natural habitat, Laguna Grande has become one of the most sought after attractions on the island. The natural beauty and tranquility of paddling through the small channel in the mangrove forest and into Laguna Grande's undisturbed waters simply can not be duplicated. If that weren't enough, watching the natural phenomenon of microorganisms illuminating the water and penetrating the darkness is breathtaking!

We pride ourselves on being an all inclusive company ensuring that everyone has an opportunity to enjoy Puerto Rico's natural beauty. With access in the Kayak Village we provide the shortest paddle possible into Laguna Grande.
Personable guides will always be present for casual conversation, questions, and safety concerns.

Kayaking at night is great
Nicholas_H, 09-04-2022
Kayaking at night is pretty unique. I would recommend that you wait until the Moon is gone as it is difficult to see the bioluminescence in the water. I do appreciate the tour guide bringing a tarp to make things darker, and I do appreciate how amazing it is to save the kayak at night in a lagoon.

The staff was nice, some of the people in our group were a bit rowdy, but all in all it was a good experience
A rare phenomenon

Great experience with a very thoughtful tour group. It is not something you can photograph, but it is amazing!

Tour was ok. Kayaking was fun and the tour guides were very nice. The lights were just a but disappointing since we couldn’t see much and was not what you see in pictures.

We are staying in San Juan and we got picked up at 6pm, and did not get to the site until 8:15. We were told it was supposed to start at 7:30. We didn’t hardly see any bioluminescence. Had to put a wet tarp over our heads to see a little glistening. I was underwhelmed. The staff were very friendly and no issues with them or their service at all. We didn’t get back to our resort until midnight. Needless to say, it was a waste of time and money. Honestly, I wouldn’t do this again even if it were free. The three stars are strictly for the staff/service.
50/50

This experience was alright but not worth the $99 you pay. our bus was late picking us up it took 2 hours to get there they don't communicate well on what is going on. It was too dark to see the beautiful mangrove but not dark enough to see the bioluminescent with out putting a tarp over your head that they supply you with while being tied to everyone else. If we had gotten there at a decent time enough to appreciate the beautiful channel then Im sure it would have been more enjoyable but not at 9pm when they close at 10pm. While our tour guides were fantastic and very informative. I wish they would have let you known that with a full moon you really can't see much at all it looks like light glitter that you really really have to shake up to see and you only get a few minutes under the tarp before you need to give it to the next kayak . They should give you the option of backing out with a full moon.
