Overview

Embark on a cultural adventure of afro Puerto Rican heritage where you will be taken to the 16th century African township & the cradle of Afro Boricua culture to learn about culture/ tradition, visit an archeological cave, meet with a cultural artist in his home art gallery, learn about the vjigante mask making process with a master artisan, learn how to dance Bomba with a forklore teacher along live drummers and partake in a moonshine rum tasting.

On your way into the city of culture and tradition in Puerto Rico, guests will pass by the Pinones Boardwalk where your guide will tell you about the history of Afro Borinken gastronomy.

Monumento Historico Cueva Maria de La Cruz
You’ll visit a secluded archeological open cave to learn about the history of the first island's Island inhabitants and the Columbia Exchange’s impact in Puerto Rico.

Estudio de Arte Samuel Lind
You will visit Samuel Lind's working art studio/gallery where you’ll have an opportunity to interact with a global artist one-on-one, learn about Afro Boricua fine arts and purchase autographed elective artwork by the artist himself.

Rio Grande De Loiza
You will visit a secluded beace to beachside to enjoy a Bomba dance & music styles workshop; so get ready to get your groove on to the beat of the maracas & rum barrels. Then learn about drum/vigilante mask making with a local artisan that craft these pieces to perfection. Followed by some free time to make elective local artisan purchases.

After partaking in local workshops, join your guide to the popular Pinones Boardwalk, to make elective fried fritter purchases at local kiosks selling Afro Puertorican street food and follow your guide to the beach to learn and sample "Pitorro" (Moonshine Rum) an ancestral fav followed by returning to the meeting spot.
