What To Expect

Yokahu Observation Tower
Dr. Frank H. Wadsworth, a former forest supervisor and director of the IITF, constructed this 69-foot tower in the early 1960s. On a clear day, the Virgin Islands may be seen from Yokah Tower, along with the coastline and four different types of forest: Colorado (smooth to the south), Tabonuco (irregular surrounding with white-leaved Yagrumos), Palm (on the steep slopes), and Cloud Forest (on the peaks). To the east, in the upper Mameyes Valley, is the deep ancient forest of the Bao de Oro Research Natural Area.

Catarata La Coca
La Coca Falls is a magnificent waterfall, rising 1,476 feet (450 meters) above sea level! La Coca Cascades' water falls 85 feet (26 meters) to the bottom of the falls, where it meets a massive rock formation. The location is ideal for taking pictures.

20 minutes • Admission Ticket Included

Angelito Trail
To reach the Ro Mameyes, which has been deemed a "Wild and Scenic River" by the federal government, this short walk descends through Tabonuco trees in the lower montane forest. The roar of the rushing river draws you closer and draws you to Las Damas Pool and other popular bathing areas.

Very friendly tour guides that know a lot about Puerto Rico! We felt like we learned a lot about the cities, the nature, the history and got a few recommendations for delicious food and drink! They were very flexible as well, coming to pick us up at our hotel and communicated very well with us. The rainforest was awesome with amazing sights and not many pesky bugs like mosquitos in our experience!
Expect to be rained on lol
