The guides were excellent. We learned about the planktons and how important an important indicator to the environment.

This tour was the best! From start to finish, communication was clear and staff was friendly. Sandra was the best guide and super knowledgeable! Our other guides (sorry guys I forgot everyone’s names!) we’re fantastic, patient and helpful. It really was one of our favorite things to do in Puerto Rico.
BioBay Evening Tour

Excellent evening kayak with the Pure Adventure crew led by 2 marine biologists. Skillfully led through the canal to the bay where we were educated as to the bioluminescence. Unforgettable experience with the glowing sea life especially seeing sparkle as we splashed water into the kayak. Experienced guides with good energy.
Great Staff

The tour was really well put together and so beautiful. Everyone was incredibly helpful and fun! Javier, Natalia, Catalina, Enrique, and Amany were all great. Javier really made it an amazing experience. The best tour I’ve taken in Puerto Rico!
Mirth, Mayhem and Wonder on the Fajardo Biobay!

We took the tour July 13th, near the peak full moon. That's the worst time to go, because the ambient light diffuses the perception of the bioluminosity. Nevertheless, we could see the effect. Pure Adventure assists by bringing a tarp to cover the group, making it darker. The effect itself is magical and fun. But the trip wasn't purely observing the effect. We had the kayak paddle-in to the lagoon which was calm due to going with the current and not having any opposing kayakers leaving. Also, our guide Sondra was educated on local fauna and we had a fun discussion about frogs! After hearing the guide discussion of the phenomenon and viewing under the tarp, the guide used a laser pointer to show us various visible constellations, which was also a treat. Then it was time to depart, a full blown battle royale against the current along the mangrove trail. We had incoming kayakers from other companies and less experienced paddlers in our own group fighting against the current and each other for the narrow passages in the stream. It was rather thrilling in a way, trying to avoid each other, staying on course, and not ping-ponging against the banks as others were doing. My son and I made it a competition with everyone else, eventually taking first podium after passing a dozen crazed and rattled kayakers. Sondra was very friendly and fun. Overall, a great excursion, but were I to go again, I'd opt for the brighter bay on Vieques, and a new moon instead of a full moon.
