Cool experience and energetic staff

This was a really unique and fun experience. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly and made sure we had a great time. They even brought tarps to drape over us in case the night sky made the bay too light.

Magical Experience!

My husband and I decided to book the tour although I had never kayaked before. I was a bit worried but he is experienced. It was a perfect night, pitch black as it was new moon. The team at Peniel is great and knowledgeable, I felt super safe and guided through the mangrovia trees tunnels. The bioluminescence is spectacular but have realistic expectations, it’s not going to look like the photoshopped photos online. Added bonus, we also saw shooting starts! Please make sure not too wear lotions, mosquitos repellant and other chemicals, it impacts the bioluminescent organism. Let’s respect nature so we can enjoy it and future generations can enjoy it too. Thank you all at Peniel for the amazing experience.
Scenic kayaking and a lifetime memory

Awesome experience. AJ and Emily were great guides, and the seeing the bioluminescence was a once in a lifetime memory. Don't expect it to be quite like the long-exposure photos you'll find on the internet (that's a camera setting that isn't really accurate to real life), but they do a great job helping guests block out the natural light to see the true effects. (Picture dozens of little fireflies in the water when you move a hand or kayak paddle.) Beyond that, it's also a very scenic kayaking experience through the mangrove trees. Fun for us as relatively inexperienced kayakers.

If you're using Apple Maps, you can find the kayak village by navigating to Mandibula Water Taxi. On Google Maps, just look for Kayak Village Fajardo. There's a food stand with bathrooms on site and plenty of parking. The tent for this tour is not part of the main village, but is down toward the back of the parking lot on the water. They also provide small snacks and drinks after the tour, and take photos for you to remember the experience.
